History
Founded in 1958, FUTURA is one of the pioneers of occupational benefits insurance.
FUTURA Vorsorgestiftung was founded in May 1958 by various trust companies. The savings bank system with supplementary risk insurance, which is still in use today, was introduced with foresight back then. We are now one of the largest independent collective foundations in Switzerland.

FUTURA has been taking sustainability criteria into account in its investments for many years.
In December 2022, the Board of Trustees adopted a comprehensive sustainability strategy based on three pillars. FUTURA has published an annual sustainability report since the 2023 financial year.

3rd pillar
Real estate
All existing properties are currently undergoing a GEAK-Plus assessment and the necessary measures are being integrated into the renovation strategy. The aim is to gradually phase out fossil fuels and reduce CO2 emissions.
We plan our new-build and conversion projects to the Minergie standard and, wherever possible, use materials that can also be recycled after their useful life (dismantling). Aspects such as a sustainable building envelope, energy supplier, PV system, mobility of all kinds and sufficient outdoor space for residents are integrated into the planning. Attention is paid to biodiversity in the design of the surroundings.
The pricing of new construction projects and existing properties should be defined in such a way that the rents are appropriate to what is on offer. Letting at fair prices and providing tenants with the best possible support enable us to increase tenant satisfaction and thus secure long-term tenancies.
